CPD: Woman stabbed while taking out garbage in West Ridge

CHICAGO — A 65-year-old woman was stabbed early Wednesday morning in West Ridge while taking out the garbage, according to Chicago police.

Police responded to the 6200 block of North Fairfield just after 1:20 a.m. on the report of a person stabbed.

A 65-year-old woman told police that she was taking out her garbage behind her residence when a male dressed in all black approached, produced a sharp object and attacked her.

She sustained lacerations to the temple and the left forearm.

The suspect fled the scene and is not in custody, according to police.

The woman was transported in good condition to St. Francis Hospital.
