Chilly and Windy Wednesday

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A cold front has brought chilly air back to Acadiana. Today, sunshine will fill the sky as winds stay strong. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for the area as winds will gust above 30 mph throughout the afternoon. Later tonight, temperatures drop into the 40s across the area under clear skies.

After devastating Jamaica as one of the strongest hurricanes in history, Hurricane Melissa has weakened to a Category 3 hurricane as it crosses Cuba. It will bring significant impacts to the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and Bermuda as it heads into the Atlantic.

Locally, our weather remains nice to end the week. We will see beautiful weather through the end of the week. For trick-or-treating Friday evening, temperatures will be in the 50s with clear skies. Saturday, rain chances return during the overnight hours and into early Sunday morning. Drier and milder weather settles in for next week.
