Torance family rumored to haunt oldest store in county
In a message to families, school officials said, “We are monitoring cases and staying in contact with CMS School Health as well as the local health department for guidance.”
According to CMS, the school and the Mecklenburg County Health Department are working together to notify anyone who may have been exposed. Letters will be sent to students and staff who are recommended for evaluation and testing.
TB symptoms can include persistent cough, fever, bloody sputum, night sweats, weight loss, fatigue, and chest pain. Officials noted that these symptoms are generally more severe and last longer than those of the flu or common cold.
The school said it will continue safety measures such as deep cleaning classrooms and common areas, providing hand sanitizers in every classroom, and encouraging proper handwashing.
“If your student develops any of these symptoms or has been given a diagnosis, please notify our school nurse immediately to help us manage this illness,” the message stated. “As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priority. Thank you for your continued support of North Mecklenburg High School.”
