LOWER OXFORD TWP, Pa. (WPHL) — A vigil was held on Lincoln University’s campus to honor the victims of Saturday night’s mass shooting.

One person was killed and six others were wounded in the shooting, with one suspect now in custody. However, police believe the shooter may not have acted alone. University officials say they will continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of the campus community.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. outside the International Cultural Center during the school’s homecoming celebrations.

The president of Lincoln University released a statement, saying in part, “Gun violence happens far too often in our country, and we are heartbroken that Lincoln University and its students are among the latest victims of such senseless violence.”
