The press conference will take place on Oct. 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center in West Columbia.
Gov. Henry McMaster, community and state agency leaders will activate this assistance in response to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s decision to halt federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) effective Nov. 1st.
Activation of the One SC Fund will enable a coordinated statewide charitable giving campaign dedicated to providing direct monetary assistance to regional food banks and local feeding partners.
The fund, originally established to support South Carolinians in times of crisis, will now mobilize resources to address increased food insecurity resulting from the loss of federal benefits.
The press conference will livestream on the SCETV website, the SCETV News YouTube channel and the SCETV Facebook page.
