Monday was 7th consecutive day with highs in the 50s
Monday was a fairly typical late October day across Chicagoland, with official highs peaking at 57 degrees at both airports, one degree shy of normal for the date.
It marked the seventh straight day with highs below 60 degrees, a streak that began on October 21.
Despite the recent temperature downturn, October 2025 is still running nearly 4.5 degrees above normal with only four days remaining in the month.
We enjoyed nearly 100% of the possible sunshine for the day as the month currently is posting a modest sunshine surplus.
In a rare meteorological twist, temperatures were actually warmer for places like Minneapolis and International Falls than Chicago, St. Louis and across the southeast where it only hit 54-degrees in Atlanta, GA. Clouds and a chilly rain played a role in the unusual temperature reversal.
