BATON ROUGE, La. (
KLFY) —
Artist Casey Meehan fulfilled his dream of gifting a portrait of
Charlie Kirk to the Kirk family after attending the
Turning Point USA event at
LSU this week.
Meehan brought the portrait, along with several prints, to the event where it was met with appreciation from attendees and gained the attention of Turning Point USA staff.
“I couldn’t believe just how positive everyone was, it’s hard to put into words,” Meehan said
Meehan made arrangements with Turning Point USA officials to ensure the portrait would be safely transported to Tennessee for the Kirk family.
“Turning point officials were talking to me and we made arrangements for after the show and they got measurements to make sure it could fit safely in the van,” Meehan explained.
Meehan expressed his happiness and sense of accomplishment and shared how the experience lifted a great weight off his shoulders, as he had been thinking about it a lot.
“Like, a great weight has been lifted because I was thinking about it a lot, obviously,” Meehan said. “I feel like I really did my part.”
Meehan said it brings him great joy to know soon the Kirk family will have a positive reminder of their loved one as they continue to remember his legacy.
