Child victim of sexual battery in Golden Gate Park bathroom: SFPD
Officers responded Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to the Polo Field area in the western half of the park after receiving a report of a sexual battery. According to investigators, a minor was victimized in the bathrooms near the field.
In response to the incident, the San Francisco Police Department said it has increased patrols in the Richmond District, increased ranger enforcement and added more cameras. The SF Recreation and Park Department said Tuesday that a park ranger is now stationed near the restrooms on weekday afternoons when youth teams are using the field.
“The safety of all our residents and visitors of San Francisco will always be our highest priority,” SFPD wrote in a statement.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
