AI data infrastructure Hub.xyz builds a distributed network for real-time machine intelligence
Forward‑thinking developers use .xyz domains to champion innovation in AI. Ethereum Layer-2 network Ten.xyz is designed to bring encrypted computation and AI agents to web3. AI platform Side.xyz introduces AI-Agent-Marketing infrastructure to support sustainable community growth in web3. Decentralized AI innovator Valory.xyz develops tools for building and owning autonomous agents. In this week’s #AIMonday, we’ll introduce you to a distributed data infrastructure designed to power real-time AI systems and research through community-driven bandwidth: Hub.xyz.
Hub.xyz is the online home of Hub, a distributed, real-time data infrastructure platform designed to transform the internet into a programmable bandwidth network for artificial intelligence systems. According to the website, Hub collects and processes public text, images, video, and audio into structured, multimodal data streams that can be used for AI training, monitoring, and research. Its decentralized network of nodes allows users to contribute unused bandwidth, creating a resilient system capable of delivering live, high-quality data at scale. In September 2025, Hub.xyz announced the closing of its pre-seed round and the opening of its seed round, bringing total fundraising to $1.7M, led by SwissBorg, a digital wealth platform headquartered in Europe.1
According to Hub.xyz, the platform is designed for a new phase of the internet dominated by AI systems and autonomous agents that require live, contextual data rather than static web pages. The platform is designed to turn idle bandwidth into a shared data resource, delivering real-time data pipelines that can support applications in machine learning, finance, cybersecurity, and the public sector. Its infrastructure aims to reduce the cost and delay associated with traditional data collection, providing continuously updating streams that reflect the current state of online activity. This distributed approach to bandwidth and compute resources positions Hub as part of a growing movement toward community-powered infrastructure for the machine economy.
Hub is founded by CEO Armin Zastra and COO Tim Sprecher. Armin brings experience in data engineering and investment, with current roles as a Limited Partner at several venture funds, including Q42 and Id4 Ventures. Tim leads Hub’s strategy and operations from Palo Alto, California, drawing on prior experience in growth operations at RevX and advisory work with community venture fund Q42. Under his leadership, Hub has grown to a network of more than 500,000 unique users contributing bandwidth to its decentralized infrastructure.
Hub’s choice of .xyz aligns with a growing trend among innovators in AI and advanced computing. Many AI platforms and infrastructure companies have adopted .xyz for its short, memorable format and its association with emerging technologies and research. The use of Hub.xyz reinforces the project’s position within a forward-looking community of developers and organizations building the next generation of the internet. You can learn more by following the network on X/Twitter @hubdotxyz and LinkedIn @hub-xyz, joining the Discord @hub-xyz, and by visiting Hub.xyz.
