Northern California police arrest driver with more than 100 pounds of illegal fireworks

(FOX40.COM) — A man was arrested after he was pulled over with more than 100 pounds of illegal fireworks in his car, according to Northern California police.

The Lathrop Police Department said it was conducting a traffic stop at McKinley Avenue and Lathrop Road when K-9 Officer Valker located more than 100 pounds of illegal fireworks in the bed of the pickup truck.

The driver, Julian Ruiz, was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. He faces charges related to felony possession of fireworks.
