
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of 22-year-old Rodney Scott on Monday. This follows an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Dec. 13, 2024, in the 800 block of Cloverleaf Terrace. The incident resulted in the shooting death of 26-year-old Lamontra Landers. Another man received treatment after being critically injured.
While investigating, officers reported finding a vehicle that was covered in bullet holes. Landers was found sitting inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.
Detectives soon identified Scott as the primary suspect in the case after sifting through video footage, collecting witness testimony and examining forensic evidence. Scott was apprehended by members of IMPD’s Violent Crimes Unit on Oct. 22 in the 4200 block of Indigo Walk Lane.
He faces preliminary charges of murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, which is a level 2 felony. According to online court records, he is scheduled to appear in Marion Superior Court 20 for a jury trial in the case on Jan. 5, 2026.
