Gastonia man admits to stealing from local Ace Hardware store: Police

GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police in Gastonia arrested a man who they say was wanted for stealing multiple items from a local Ace Hardware store.

36-year-old Eben Hellekson allegedly stole tools from the Ace Hardware on Neal Hawkins Road. According to court documents, the tools had a total value of more than $400.

Police said “Hellekson targeted this business several times in the past month, causing frustration for owners and staff.”

On Sunday, October 26, Hellekson was booked into the Gaston County Jail without bond. Officers said he provided a full confession to these crimes.
