'Celebration of legacy'| New Edition to bring new tour to New Orleans in 2026
Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill will kick off their cross-country “The New Edition Way” tour, on Jan. 29, 2026.
The North American leg will send them to 30 cities including each of their hometowns of Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and New York. This will commemorate the groups over 40 year of legacy, music and connection to the fans, with a once-in-a-lifetime “dynamic, up-close, immersive concert experience.”
Since its forming in 1978, New Edition has released chart topping classics through generations including “Mr. Telephone Man,” “Cool It Now,” “I’m Still In Love with You,” “If It Isn’t Love,” and the biggest hit “Candy Girl.”
Their legacy also includes the breakout group Bell Biv DeVoe (BBD) that produced the hit “Poison” and the group Boyz II Men, who will be joining them on the tour.
From the group’s success grew solo careers for members including Ralph Tresvant with “Sensitivity, Johnny Gill with “My, My, My” and the “Original Bad Boy of R&B” Bobby Brown known for “Every little Step,” “My Prerogative” and his public relationship with legend Whitney Houston.
In total the members have collected multiple #1 singles, American Music and Soul Train Awards, and have sold over 50 million albums.
Boyz II Men, known for hits “End of the Road,” “Doin’ Just Fine” and “On Bended Knee,” will join New Edition on stage for the first time ever. The Grammy Award winning group is known for their vocal harmony.
Also joining the tour is Grammy Award-winning icon Toni Braxton who is known through her celebrated hits including “Un-Break My Heart,” “Another Sad Love Song” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”
Her talents have led her to sell over 70 million record worldwide.
“You’re seeing artists who’ve shaped the culture, come together to celebrate music that continues to stand the test of time,” says Gary Guidry, CEO of the Black Promoters Collective.
The tour make their stop at the Smoothie King Center on Friday, April 3, 2026.
General public tickets are set to go on sale on Friday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster while there is a presale ticket schedule:
