Lewis & Clark’s Ben Gaskins on fierce pushback against Trump presidency

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — We are witnessing a historic presidency, as President Trump asserts his executive authority in the courts, on the media, on immigration policy, even the power of the purse as assigned to Congress.

Now, we’re seeing the pushback, as evidenced by last weekend’s “No Kings” rallies across the nation – including Portland.

Thousands of Americans are taking a stand against the direction of this administration.

Associate Professor Ben Gaskins holds areas of expertise that include the presidency, American political parties, as well as religion’s intersection with the political world.

He is also chair of the political science department at Lewis & Clark College.
