23-year-old man dies after being shot while inside car Saturday afternoon in Garfield Park, Chicago police say

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man died after being shot while inside a car Saturday afternoon on the city’s West Side, according to Chicago police.

Police say the man was inside a vehicle in the 4100 block of West Jackson Boulevard, in Garfield Park, just after 3 p.m. when he was hit in the chest by gunfire. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead,

Nobody is in custody, and police say area detectives are investigating.
