Vehicle of interest found, teen interviewed after woman’s remains found in Mt Hood National Forest
On Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office said they found the vehicle, a 2002 red and gray Chevy Avalanche. It is not clear where authorities located the truck.
The finding comes after Thursday’s arrest of 56-year-old William Glen Blake, who is suspected of killing his girlfriend Jennifer Ruth Stuart. Blake was arrested on several charges including second-degree murder, second-degree abuse of a corpse, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.
The Sheriff’s Office also announced Saturday that authorities interviewed Blake’s 17-year-old son.
According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 1, deputies responded to Forest Service Road 45 in the Mount Hood National Forest near South Hillockburn Road, where someone had reported finding human remains.
After investigating the scene and performing an autopsy, officials identified the victim as 38-year-old Stuart. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Officials said they believe Stuart was killed during an argument at the couple’s Oregon City home on Aug. 15.
Blake’s 15-year-old son was also taken into custody on charges of second-degree abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence after he allegedly helped move Stuart’s remains.
“To have a loved one harm us hits deeper,” Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth previously told KOIN 6 News. “We have seen, especially since COVID, an uptick in the number of domestic violence cases that we see.”
