For the count of forcible sodomy, he has been sentenced to an indeterminate term between five years to life in prison. All sentences will be running consecutive to, or after, another.

On June 13, 2022, the mother of a 13-year-old informed to police that her child had been molested on multiple occasions between the ages of six and nine years old. The mother identified the perpetrator as Reyes Miramontes Guzman, who was the godfather of the victim.
Investigators interviewed the 13-year-old on June 21, 2022. The victim told them that they had been molested three different times in Reyes’ home by Reyes.
The first time happened when the victim was five or six, as well as two other times. During each instance, Reyes reportedly assaulted the victim using his hand. On one instance, the victim stated that they began to cry, and Reyes got mad at them and told them to wipe off their face so that others wouldn’t know they were crying.
The victim’s mother informed law enforcement that their family had spent multiple summers with Reyes and his family, who were family friends.
Law enforcement then spoke to Reyes’s wife, who stated that they had been separated for several years after she learned that Reyes had assaulted her daughter. Reportedly, she did not report it, because her daughter moved out.
The daughter was also interviewed by law enforcement and was 23 years old at the time of the interview.
She told law enforcement that Reyes had assaulted her beginning at age three or four. She also recalled several instances where Reyes had groped her underneath her clothing and performed oral sexual acts between the ages of four and 17.
An officer with the St. George Police Department brought Reyes into the police department and interviewed him. Reyes corroborated knowing both victims and his relationship to each of them.
He initially stated that he had not separated from his wife, before later saying they separated for a few days, “because of some allegations about him messing with her when she was little.” Reyes denied doing anything sexual with the two victims and that the stuff was “basically made up”.
On August 15, 2022, Reyes was contacted by law enforcement and was informed that he would be arrested. He turned himself in and was charged with rape of a child and aggravated sex abuse of a child.
After a multi-day jury trial earlier this year, Reyes was found guilty.
