SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Tony Award-winning actress Stephanie J. Block and her husband Sebastian Arcelus were announced as featured guest artists at the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square Christmas concerts this year.

Stephanie J. Block is a seasoned Broadway performer, most recently appearing as Kate in “Kiss Me Kate” in London and on Broadway and tour as The Baker’s Wife in “Into the Woods.” She won a Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, and Outer Critics Award in 2019 for her performance as Cher in “The Cher Show.” She has also been nominated for a Tony Award for her performance as Trina in “Falsettos” in 2016.

Sebastian Arcelus is also a star of the stage and screen, having appeared as The Baker in “Into the Woods” alongside his wife. He also has had roles on long-running television shows like “Madam Secretary” and “House of Cards.”

Famously, the two starred in “Wicked” on Broadway together as Elphaba and Fiyero.

About performing with the Tabernacle Choir, Block said, “We are a prayerful family, so when Christ and family come together to meet the gifts we’ve been given, and the opportunity lends itself to share those gifts at Christmas time, we feel very, very lucky.”

Arcelus described the opportunity as “an extraordinary surprise and a great honor.”

This year’s Christmas concerts will be directed by music director of the Choir Mack Wilberg, alongside associate music director Ryan Murphy.

The concerts will be held on December 11, 12, and 13 at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. Tickets are free, but they are required, and they will be given out through a random selection process. There will be a standby line available 90 minutes prior to the concert start.

If you would like to request tickets, you need to do so between October 28 and November 7 on the Choir’s website.

Block and Arcelus will also perform during the weekly “Music & the Spoken Word” broadcast on December 14.
