ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Abilene Philharmonic returns to the Abilene Convention Center for an evening of symphonic music and community celebration on Saturday night, October 25, 2025.

The performance is called “An evening with Leonard Bernstein”, which pays tribute to one of the 20th century’s most influential composers and conductors.

David Itkin, the Music Director and composer of the Abilene Philharmonic, said, “This orchestra is so special to me. The people in this orchestra and what they produce are both so unique. I hope the people in Abilene, and I know a lot of them do, can appreciate how incredibly unique it is to have an orchestra that plays at this level in a city our size.”

You can purchase tickets for the performance by following this link.

The Abilene Philharmonic returns on Saturday, December 6, for “A Three Tenors Christmas”.

David Itkin recently published a book called Right Back Where I Started: A Memoir in Music. You can purchase it on Amazon or locally at Texas Star Trading Company.
