Fishing connoisseurs of all ages have the opportunity to experience the rich history of the “oldest freshwater fishing rodeo in the nation.”
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the City Park Conservancy will host this event, which will have various categories and activities for everyone and all skill levels. In addition to this, the events will have both youth and adult divisions for anglers to compete, according to LDWF officials.
Some of the events include the Battle for the Bass, Boats on the Bayou, Cichlid and Bream Trim and the Fishtival.
According to LDWF officials, the Fishtival is a free event that will have music, food, door prizes, and new and used fishing equipment for sale.
