Overnight fire in MinneapolisFour people were displaced and a man had to be rescued but no injuries were reported.

Firefighters rescued a man from a burning apartment building overnight in north Minneapolis.

It happened after crews were called to a home along Penn Avenue near Lowry Avenue just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

There, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from an apartment on the first floor.

A man was found unconscious and was rescued by firefighters. Authorities say he took off before EMS personnel could treat him.

While the fire was extinguished, the building was deemed uninhabitable due to fire and water damage and was boarded up.

Four people were displaced by the blaze. Authorities say the Red Cross was called to help them.

At this time, it’s unclear what caused the fire. That remains under investigation.
