Road Closure: SR-201 shut down after dump truck hits bridge

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — SR-201 has been shut down after the back of a dump truck struck a bridge above, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on eastbound SR-201 at I-215 West. Shortly after 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, A dump truck was reportedly heading eastbound on SR-201 when the back of the truck, which had been lifted up, struck the bridge of I-215 West southbound.

All eastbound traffic on SR-201 is shut down, police said. UHP is asking the public to avoid the area at this time.

“Expect delays,” UHP posted on X. “The closure is expected to last 1-2 hours.”

All traffic is being diverted to southbound I-215 at this time.
