Philadelphia to commemorate 30th anniversary of Million Man March
On October 16th, local leaders gathered to commemorate the official 30th Anniversary and launched a 10-day countdown to this Sunday’s march.
Three decades ago, on October 16th, 1995, the world witnessed one of the most significant demonstrations of unity, responsibility, and purpose in modern history. Nearly 1.75 million men, descendants of the formerly enslaved, gathered peacefully on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for the Million Man March, answering a call to atonement and accountability.
According to organizers, no city in America sent more men to this momentous gathering than Philadelphia.
