Families are encouraged to come get a photo with the Wienermobile and participate in free activities put on by the City of Topeka’s Office of Inclusive Communities from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Activities include the “Sing It Like a Weiner” karaoke, a Wienermobile Relay Race and a Hot Dog Costume Runway.
The iconic 13-foot long hot dog car was created in 1936 as an advertising strategy for the up-and-coming Oscar Mayer company. Its new car would travel the streets of Chicago, Illinois letting everyone know about Oscar Mayer hot dogs. Since then, the car has driven thousands of miles, becoming a classic piece of Americana history.
The Wienermobile last made a stop in Topeka back in June of 2024. This year’s event is located at the Central Park Community Center Parking lot at 1534 SW Clay St.
