According to the executive order, the declaration allows the state legislature, which is currently in a special session, to use the Revenue Stabilization Fund to fund SNAP.

“My Administration has created over 70,000 new job opportunities in Louisiana since I took office. Wages are on the rise, and our economic outlook has never looked better. This is how we move people from dependence to independence.
“I urge those who are able bodied to continue to strive to get off SNAP and similar programs. Due to the Democrat’s political games these programs are not reliable.
“I encourage our citizens to seek the thousands of new job opportunities across our State, and free themselves from these social programs that the Left uses as a weaponization tool to win political points.”
An executive order states that the prices for goods and services sold may not exceed the prices usually charged for comparable goods and services before the state of emergency. The order is in effect from Friday, Oct. 24, through Tuesday, Nov. 4, unless it is changed or terminated.
