Louisiana charity makes young girl’s Disney birthday dream real

VERMILION PARISH, LA. (KLFY) — Eight-year-old Allori Eurigues from Forked Island East Broussard Elementary was surprised with a trip to Disney World by the Dreams Come True of Louisiana organization.

Allori, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at birth, received the surprise as a birthday gift. Her family had kept the trip a secret until the big reveal, which was organized by the nonprofit Dreams Come True of Louisiana.

“She is a very tough girl, she deals with a lot, and she is very strong. And now she gets her dream come true from Dreams Come True,” said Crystal Eurigues, Allori’s mother.

Spinal muscular atrophy is a rare neuromuscular disorder that results in the loss of motor neurons and progressive muscle wasting, affecting Allori’s muscular abilities in her face.

“We found out a couple weeks ago and it’s hard to hold it in cause we wanted to surprise her but we pulled it off.” Crystal Eurigues said. “Her birthday is tomorrow, so she was just worried about her birthday. It was definitely a surprise. This means the world. And then to have the support from everyone.”

Allori and her family plan to make the trip to Disney World in December, and they cannot thank the Dreams Come True of Louisiana Foundation enough for this gift of memories.

The surprise trip to Disney World is set to create lasting memories for Allori and her family, highlighting the impact of the Dreams Come True of Louisiana’s efforts to bring joy to children with serious medical conditions.
