“After much reflection and with a heart full of gratitude, I have decided to retire at the end of this school year,” Dr. Finney said. “Serving the students, staff, and families of Harris County has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished together. In recent months, I have come to recognize the importance of prioritizing my health and family responsibilities, and I believe this is the right time for me, my family, and the district.”
