RIDGEWAY, Va. (WFXR) — Here are the four things you need to know about the upcoming race week at Martinsville Speedway……Number 1…..Martinsville Speedway has been the last race of the round of 8 elimination race in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs since the 2020 season. This is the sixth consecutive year that it has held this position, which is the ninth race of the ten-race playoff schedule.

Number 2…..7 of the 8 playoff drivers have a win at the paperclip….and out of the 7…5 have fall race wins in Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and…

Number 3…needing a 3-peat……..Ryan Blaney has won the last 2 Martinsville fall races to punch his ticket to the championship 4…He’s going to need a 3rd straight win to advance to Phoenix.

Number 4….once again……the Martinsville fall race is the traditional 500 lap race…..since 2022…the spring race was a 400 lap event.

Playoffs race on Friday, October 24, the NASCAR Xfinity Series IAA & Ritchie Bros. 250 Playoffs race on Saturday, Oct. 25, on CW Virginia and the NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500 Playoffs race on Sunday, October 26.
