MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The chief executive officer of a bank with roots in Arkansas was arrested by federal authorities in Memphis on Thursday.

FBI officials confirmed that Bob Hartheimer, the CEO of Evolve Bank, was arrested at the bank’s headquarters on Poplar Avenue on Thursday after executing a search warrant.

Authorities have not disclosed what possible charges Hartheimer is facing.

Hartheimer was named CEO of Evolve Bank and Trust in August.

WREG reached out to Evolve Bank for comment and is still waiting for a response.

Evolve Bank & Trust, which was originally known as First State Bank, began in the Cross County city of Parkin in 1925. Evolve now has several locations, most of which are in eastern Arkansas.

In June of 2024, the Federal Reserve Board issued an enforcement action against Evolve for “deficiencies in the bank’s anti-money laundering, risk management, and consumer compliance programs.”
