Cone Zone: Upcoming closures to be aware of this weekend
Weekend road closures to cause major travel impactsStarting Friday night, several high-traffic roadways will shut down in the Twin Cities so crews can do construction work.
Before traveling this weekend, there are several closures to be aware of.
I-94
Westbound I-94 between I-35E and Dale Street, and eastbound I-94 between Highway 280 and University Avenue East will both close at 10 p.m. on Friday and reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday.
The closures are part of an ongoing project to repair nine bridges in St. Paul.
Westbound traffic will be redirected to northbound I-35E, westbound Highway 36 and southbound Highway 280.
Eastbound traffic will be redirected to northbound Highway 280, eastbound Highway 36 and southbound I-35E.
494 ramp closures
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Sunday, a few ramps connected to 494 will close.
The northbound I-35W ramp onto eastbound I-494 in Bloomington will close and will stay closed until early December.
The eastbound 494 ramp onto Lyndale Avenue will close and remain closed through November.
