According to AAA Texas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $2.91 per gallon, while drivers in Laredo and Sherman-Denison are paying the least at $2.49 per gallon.
AAA Texas detailed that lower gas demand and steady supply are continuing to help push pump prices downward nationally and statewide. Officials stated that as long as refinery production is not disrupted, gas prices should continue declining in the fall and winter months, the lowest fuel demand period.
“Lower crude oil prices, steady production and lower demand are giving drivers relief at the pump,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson.
AAA Texas added that the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.07, which is two cents more than last week and eight cents less per gallon when compared to this day last year.
