Motorcyclist dead in early morning Terrytown crash

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A crash in Terrytown Thursday morning, Oct. 23, left a motorcyclist dead, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Around 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to the scene at the corner of Holmes Boulevard and Athena Avenue, after getting several calls reporting the crash.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man who had reportedly been ejected from his motorcycle. He was treated by EMS but later died from his injuries.

The investigation revealed the motorcyclist was headed north on Holmes Boulevard when he reportedly struck a barrier in the road resulting in him losing control of the bike.

JPSO deputies state the crash remains under investigation as toxicology results are pending.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office will released the man’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
