Fire damages Jackson apartment complex, one injured

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A fire damaged several units at a Jackson apartment complex.

The fire occurred in the 5600 block of Keele Street on October 22, 2025.

According to Division Fire Chief Charles Felton, crews saw smoke coming from the roof of the structure when they arrived. He said all occupants were outside of the unit.

One tenant sustained cuts during the fire and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The tenant is expected to make a full recovery.

Felton said the fire was caused by unattended cooking and was classified as accidental.
