Crash involving train, vehicle shuts down road in west suburbs

ELGIN, Ill. (WGN) — Emergency crews in the west suburbs are on the scene after a crash involving a train and a vehicle on Thursday morning.

While specific details about the crash are currently unclear, officials from the Elgin Police Department said the incident unfolded on the tracks along South State Street, between National Street and East Chicago Street.

SkyCam 9 was over the scene when the badly damaged vehicle could be seen as crews conducted their investigation.

Officials have not yet said if anyone was injured in the crash, but the incident shut down State Street between National and Chicago.
