Charges filed against teen driver in Marin County crash that killed four
The teen driver was charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, a source tells KRON4. The teen also faces two vehicle infractions: driving on a provisional license and speeding.
Last week, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) report revealed that speeding was the cause of the April 18 crash that killed four teenage girls.
The crash happened on a Friday, shortly before 7:30 p.m. when a Volkswagen Tiguan hit a tree on San Geronimo Valley Road, just west of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The crash resulted in the vehicle catching fire.

The victims were identified as Olive Koren, Josalynn Osborn, Sienna Katz and Ada Kepley, between 14 and 16 years old. They were students from Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo, according to school district officials. The girls were on the way to a sleepover.
There is no word on when the teen driver will be back in court. The teen is not in custody.
