In a series of posts shared by the Wieners Circle on X on Wednesday afternoon, the hot dog stand said it would be willing to once again offer its famous dogs for free, but only under specific conditions.
This time around, the Wieners Circle said it would offer free hot dogs if Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson took his shirt off during or after any win for the rest of the year.
“If Ben Johnson takes his shirt off during or after any @ChicagoBears victory this year, it’s once again free hot dogs for the city,” the post read.
The stand went on to clarify that the offer stands even if Johnson waits to take his shirt off in the locker room during one of his game ball speeches.
Shortly after the announcement, Caleb Williams was asked whether he would encourage Johnson to take his shirt off for the free hot dogs, but the Bears quarterback said no.
It is a big promise for the Wieners Circle, which just last month made good on their promise and handed out free hot dogs to dozens who patiently waited in a line that stretched for blocks along Clark Street.
According to the restaurant, they usually sell about 200 hot dogs on a typical Tuesday, but they prepared ten times as many to feed the hungry crowd for free.
Thankfully, Vienna Beef and S. Rosen Bakery helped the hot dog stand keep its promise on the promotion, though it is unclear if they will offer a helping hand again.
