In addition, the mother says her son will need additional dental work done on another tooth that was hurt during this incident.
Bennett says that neither she nor any of her Child’s emergency contacts were notified by the school about what took place. She says she was made aware by the parent of another student.
The school also released a statement stating:
“Following an initial investigation, the staff member has been terminated. We continue to fully cooperate with the Philadelphia Police Department and the authorities to ensure transparency and accountability at every step.”
After learning more about the incident, Bennett believes more should have been done.
“The cops should have been called. My son should have went to the ambulance instead of to the nurse’s office. That man went home; my son went to the hospital.”
Reports say the family has hired a lawyer and filed a police report.
