JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two women were arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at a Jackson gas station.

Jackson police said Carniya Randolph, 20, and Candice McVeigh, 19, were arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder. They were both denied bond during their initial court appearances.

The shooting occurred in the 900 block of Cooper Road on October 19, 2025.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the suspects fled the scene, possibly in a white Honda sedan. The male victim was identified as Melvin Bass, 22, of Jackson.

Detectives expect to make more arrests as the investigation continues.
