Haggerty and Bashir Jr. are two of K-State’s 10 newcomers this season. Haggerty, a Memphis transfer, is already sparking chatter ahead of the season. He was recently named to the Big 12 preseason team and CBS Sports preseason All-American team.
“He’s learning to be a great leader,” Tang said. “This year he’s required to be more of a leader than in the past before.”
“For a head coach to have that much belief in me, just knowing I have a lot on my shoulder, just being able to prove everybody wrong, and prove him right,” Haggerty said.
The junior Monmouth transfer, Bashir Jr., brings depth for the ‘Cats at guard.
“I feel like I’m a plug-in player,” Bashir Jr. said. “I can play every position you need me to.”
Wildcats will be in action in an exhibition game against Missouri on Friday, Oct. 24.
