Fort Valley State mourns a freshman scholar from Columbus

FORT VALLEY, Ga. (WRBL) — Fort Valley State University announced on Wednesday the death of a student from Columbus, Ga.

FVSU officials stated that freshman Jame’la Moore passed away on Oct. 17.

The university released a statement on Facebook:

“‘The FVSU community mourns the loss of our scholar, Jame’la Moore,” said FVSU President Paul Jones. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who knew and loved her.’”

FVSU will be providing additional support or counseling for any students in need. Students are encouraged to visit the Wellness Center or call 833-646-1526.
