WILKINSON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A former Centreville police officer pled guilty to one count of embezzlement.

State Auditor Shad White said Patrick Harris pawned his assigned pistol from the Centreville Police Department to a pawn shop. A few months later, White said Harris took two pistols from the evidence/property room and pawned them off.

“I’m thankful to the agents in my office for working on this case as long as the prosecutor who helped bring it to a close,” said White. “We will continue to work hand-in-hand with prosecutors to hold those who steal taxpayer money accountable.”
