Fire in Brookside near Veyo destroys trailer despite quick response
BROOKSIDE, Utah (ABC4) — A trailer caught on fire in Brookside, near Veyo, and it was declared a total loss despite a quick response from firefighters.
According to Dammeron Valley Fire, fire crews responded at 5:27, and within seven minutes of getting the call, they were actively fighting the fire.
The trailer was declared a total loss, but it was located next to a home, and firefighters were able to save the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the preliminary investigation is pointing to the refrigerator as the origin.
The resident was not home, and no injuries were reported.
Multiple agencies responded, including Dammeron Valley Fire and Rescue, Northwest Fire District, Gold Cross Ambulance, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Santa Clara Ivins Fire and Rescue.
Brookside is an unincorporated community located between the towns of Veyo and Central, Utah.
