Boone County man charged in early-morning home invasion and assault

A Boone County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a home and assaulting a resident in the early hours of October 4. 37-year-old Andrew Clark, is charged with aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault on a family or household member, criminal mischief in the first degree, domestic battering in the third degree, and violation of a no-contact order. He also faces a habitual offender sentence enhancement.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around midnight to 904 Shorecrest Avenue after a resident reported a man attempting to break into the house and breaking kitchen windows. The victim identified the suspect as Clark, who was reportedly moving between her bedroom window, the back door, and the garage door.

Deputies attempted to track Clark with the help of a K-9. During the search, officers recovered a wallet with $228, a red hat, and a key lanyard with metal knuckles. Clark initially evaded authorities near the Family Dollar area.

Later, the victim called 911 again, reporting that Clark had returned, choked her, and slammed her to the ground before fleeing once more.

Clark remains at large while authorities continue the investigation.
