Arrest made in connection with 16 separate business break-ins across Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A young man has been arrested in connection with a series of break-ins that targeted over a dozen Charlotte-area businesses, according to court records.

Emil Jafeth Lagos-Herrera, 19, was taken into custody on Tuesday, October 21. He faces multiple felony charges, including breaking and entering, conspiracy, and larceny after breaking and entering. His bond has not been authorized at this time.

According to court documents, 16 local Charlotte businesses were affected by the break-ins in just two days. The list includes Sephora, Rack Room Shoes, Jimmy John’s, VIP Nails, and King Fu Tea, as well as local shops like TLC Cleaners, Sushiya Japan, and Wolf’s Haircuts for Men.

Investigators said that both cash and merchandise were stolen during the incidents, with some property valued in the thousands of dollars.

Lagos-Herrera is making his first court appearance on Wednesday.
