The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office reports that it received notice around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 of a crash involving a single vehicle in the 900 block of Northeast 62nd Street. Deputies arriving at the scene found a 2002 Honda Odyssey was traveling east on the street when it left the road, traveled through a ditch, over a driveway, through a field and came to a stop at a nearby tree line.
First responders took the driver of the Odyssey to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Medical staff declared her dead at the hospital.
The sheriff’s office identified the crash victim as 63-year-old Terry L. Friesen of Ozawkie. She was not wearing a seat belt during the crash, according to law enforcement.
