First look at man involved in shootout with Merced County deputies
The sheriff’s office says Le Grand’s 35-year-old Roman Naranjo,
According to deputies, Naranjo and two others were accused of breaking into an apartment along the 3800 block of Washington Avenue in Le Grand around 2 a.m.
Once deputies arrived, they say they were met by gunfire from the suspects. A gunfight ensued, and deputies say two of Naranjos accomplices were struck.
Naranjo was arrested, and the other two suspects were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Naranjo is currently awaing trial in the Merced County Jail for four felony charges, including: attempted prevention of witness/victim conspiracy, burglary, firearm use with crime, and robbery.
His bail has been set for $200,000.
