SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — One person is in critical condition after an accident on Monday evening in Salt Lake City.
According to Salt Lake City Police Department, crews responded to a report of a car accident around 500 South and 300 West around 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening.
When they responded, they learned that a male bicyclist had been hit by a vehicle. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
An accident team has also responded to the scene and is investigating what lead up to the crash. The road between 300 West and 400 West on 500 South is currently closed but is estimated to reopen around 11:30 p.m. on Monday.
Law enforcement has not confirmed if there were any contributing factors to the incident. They have also not confirmed the identity of the bicyclist or the driver of the vehicle at this time, as it remains an active investigation.
