ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – As we all know, the month of October is spooky season, and there are some Key City residents whose passion for Halloween is on full display in a big way.

Over on the 2700 block of South 12th Street, a total of three homes have filled their front yards with dozens of scary Halloween decorations that include all the spooky ghosts, goblins and all sorts of monsters associated with the scary season. This massive display has become something of a family tradition, and the one that started it all, homeowner Manuel Vasquez, explained some details behind this spooky display.

“It started with one, and it just took off from there, man, and just added more little by little, and doing it 16 years this year. I want everybody to come out and see it, and be sure and come by for Halloween. We give out the big candy bars here,” Vasquez said.

Vasquez invites the public to come out any weekend in October to enjoy the display. Vasquez also explained how he and members of his family will often dress up and hide amongst the displays and scare anyone who dares to enter these hallowed grounds as part of the fun.
