VIDEO: Massive C-130 fuselage delivered to Abilene Zoo overnight
ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Officials at the Abilene Zoo have received the fuselage of a retired C-130 Hercules cargo plane, which will soon become the centerpiece of the zoo’s new lion exhibit.

Workers delivered the massive aircraft body to the zoo just after midnight on Monday. The C-130 will serve as a unique feature in the upcoming “Wild Encounters and Ferocious Eats” phase of the zoo’s major renovation.
Construction is expected to begin next year. Once complete, the Abilene Zoo will be the only AZA-accredited zoo in the nation to feature a plane as large as a C-130 within an animal habitat.
