Taylor Swift donates $100K to Triad child with cancer: People

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Stokes County family has received a $100,000 donation to their GoFundMe from someone named Taylor Swift, according to a People report.

Lilah Smoot is just two years old and is battling a rare and aggressive form of Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor that she was diagnosed with at 18 months old.

According to researchers at the University of Michigan, fewer than 100 children in the United States are diagnosed with ATRT each year.

Lilah is a big Taylor Swift fan, and with the help of her family, made a TikTok showing Lilah enjoying the artist’s work and catching her eye.

Hundreds of people have donated $13, Swift’s favorite number, doubling the initial donation for the Smoot family.

According to Lilah’s mother, Katelynn Smoot, the family is staying in Philadelphia right now for Lilah’s treatment. They have to live at the hospital in Philadelphia for a month at a time.

They will return to Stokes County in November.
